Welcome to the

4th Annual Virtual Math Competition

by Singapore Math Classes & Camps!

For: 1st – 5th Grader

Competition Time: 3:00pm – 4:00pm CST

Requirements:

Device and Internet

  • Ensure that you possess a device (e.g., laptop, desktop, or tablet) equipped with a functional camera, capable of accessing the internet, and running Google Forms smoothly. Please be informed that participants will be monitored via the camera during the competition; therefore, it is essential to ensure that your device has a working camera.
  • Utilize a dependable and steady internet connection throughout the competition. Please note that we will be using the online platforms Zoom Meeting and Google Forms.
  • We recommend using Google Chrome as your browser for the best experience with Google Forms.

  • Zoom Account (If you don’t have a Zoom account yet, you can create one here)

Rules & Procedures:

  • Upon completing your registration, a Zoom link will be dispatched to your registered email address one day before the commencement of the competition.
  • We kindly request that you check in as early as 2:15 PM to ensure a prompt start.
  • The test link embedded within a Google Form will be distributed at 3 PM via the Zoom platform.
  • All questions presented during the competition will be either multiple-choice or short-answer format.
  • Please note that calculators are not permitted during the competition.
  • To prevent the possibility of cheating, contestant needs to be by himself or herself in a room doing the test.  Parents need to leave the room once the contestants are log in and are able to access the test.
  • The tests will be automatically graded through Google Forms for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participants will have a total of one hour for the test, though they are free to leave early if they complete the competition before the allotted time elapses.
  • We DO NOT give out test scores or the wrong questions after contest.

Number of questions:

  • 1st Grade – 25 Questions
  • 2nd Grade – 30 Questions
  • 3rd Grade – 30 Questions
  • 4th Grade – 30 Questions
  • 5th Grade – 30 Questions

In announcing the ranks 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, the judges will follow these rules:

  • Announce Ranks 1, 2 and 3, if and ONLY if there are at least 10 contestants
  • Announce Ranks 1 and 2 ONLY, if there are 8 or 9 contestants
  • Announce Rank 1 ONLY, if there are 5-7 contestants
  • DO NOT announce any ranks if there are less than 5 contestants

In the event that two contestants tie in their scores, they will be given another question to work on, and whoever gets the correct answer first will be the winner.
